Tree-associated biotope

The tree-associated biotope includes species living within the canopy, either feeding on leaves, epiphytes or other insects, and those species associated with dead wood (saproxylic). This division also includes those species living under the canopy of woodland, in the shaded field and ground layer and those associated with woodland and wood-pasture systems.

The diagram below shows the hierarchy of the habitats and resources within the biotope. White boxes indicate a subheading for a collection of resources. The "QI" suffix indicates a biotope, habitat or resource that is a quality indicator.
