The coastal broad biotope includes all habitats affected by the tides next to the shorelines, namely, beaches, rocky shores and saltmarsh. It does not include coastal habitats that are not wetlands i.e. not directly affected by the tide (e.g. dunes, cliff tops).
The diagram below shows the hierarchy of the habitats and resources within the biotope. The "QI" suffix indicates a biotope, habitat or resource that is a quality indicator.
