Broad resources

Broad resources are split into two groups: plant associated and saprophagous.

The plant-associated broad resource includes species that directly require a specific named plant, be they phytophagous or nectivorous.

The saprophagous (dung and carrion) broad resource includes species associated with, most commonly, vertebrate waste products and dead bodies within the landscape, ranging in size from small mammals/frogs/song birds up to large grazing animals.

The diagram below shows the hierarchy of the habitats and resources within the biotope. The "QI" suffix indicates a biotope, habitat or resource that is a quality indicator.
