wetland vegetation

These plants may form large beds or can be part of a fringe of vegetation around the edge of pond and provide a terrestrial structural mosaic.

Mostly provides an aquatic structural complexity. Some of these species may have specific associations with these (e.g. the beetle Telmatophilus typhae is found only on Typha), whereas others are found on a variety of reeds and monocots. Typical plants within this category definition include Typha, Phragmites, Glyceria, Sparginum, Carex paniculata and Iris spp.
